BWM wins Kmart project work

Exclusive: Kmart has appointed BWM to handle a customer engagement program, ahead of appointing a lead ad agency to its $28m creative account.

Tracie Walker, general manager, corporate affairs and sustainability, confirmed the appointment to BT Today, but said the project win does not guarentee the agency’s appointment to the lucrative creative account.

“I can confirm that in the short term we will be working with BWM on an exciting customer engagement program but we are yet to confirm whether the agency will be awarded our broader creative account,” she said.

The creative review, which launched last month, involves incumbent of six years SapientNitro as well as DDB and BWM.

Following the appointment of former McDonald’s marketing director Dion Workman to the position of general manager of marketing last week, after the departure of Paul Church, industry speculation points towards a win for DDB.
